This year the Mad About Modern home tour, presented by the Charlotte Museum of History, is celebrating its 10th year of showcasing the Queen City’s most avant-garde homes. By popular demand and due to the pandemic the tour is hosted for a second time online. You can tour the homes without even getting off the couch!
MOD Experience Fundraiser Party: Thursday, September 23 at 6:00 pm at The Charlotte Museum of History
If you want to count yourself as an insider, join the select few for the in-person event. The party takes place outdoors and inside the museum and features a midcentury modern pop-up exhibit, midcentury-themed activities and a costume contest for best midmod attire. The pop-up exhibit includes iconic midcentury modern furniture and accessories, including an original Eames chair, from Fos Restoration Co.
I enjoyed taking part in the planning committee and being part of the mod squad. Thank you to those of you, who have become sponsors. The homes this year offer an insight into what’s possible when special care and attention has been given to the making of spectacular built environments. And even though they have aged, they remain innovative, playful, and timeless.
