Solar Panels in Action

Dialed In

The first stats are in for the solar panel system of the Gerendák residence in Charlotte, NC.

The most exciting information here is that 84% of the electric power for the house was covered by the photovoltaics.

84% Coverage

That is actually the power output we had hoped for on average. At this level the system comes for free. That is to say the investment cost equals the energy savings. It’s a peculiar number resulting from a cut-off date instituted by the local electric utility company. They manage to rake in all the benefits at the peak of production.

What does it mean?

It means that this particular house will not add carbon dioxide to the atmosphere destroying the very shield that is protecting our habitat!
